PPA supports Ukrainian refugees
Since a large number of Ukrainians fled to Germany in February 2022, we at PPA Personal have been trying to help them integrate into the German labor market.
- We helped with the formalities surrounding registration and residence permits so that they were able to work legally in Germany quickly.
- We have made efforts to recognize the professional and educational qualifications of Ukrainians so that qualified workers can work in their field more quickly.
- The refugees’ German language skills were improved with language courses.
- In cooperation with our German partner companies, we have looked for and found jobs for Ukrainian refugees.
What do you have to watch out for with seasonal workers?
Your company can employ harvest workers or seasonal workers from the EU without having to pay social security contributions for the new employees.
To do so, the employment must be limited to a maximum of 70 working days or three months within a calendar year and the employment must not be carried out on a professional basis.
In addition, the employees must belong to the following groups of people: Students, pupils, pensioners, housewives or househusbands.
The employer must be presented with appropriate documents as proof, such as a certificate of enrollment, a student ID card, a pension certificate or proof of status as a housewife or househusband.
Simply hire skilled workers from Portugal?
Employers do not have to observe any special regulations when hiring EU citizens as long as the employees have an EU passport.
Hiring an EU citizen from abroad is therefore no different from hiring a German employee.
The same employee rights and collectively agreed wages apply to both groups.
However, there are some exceptions where it must be checked before hiring whether certain qualifications must be recognized in Germany.
This mainly concerns professions such as nurses, doctors and teachers.
The recruitment of skilled workers from Portugal is therefore very straightforward.
PPA recruits Brazilian nursing staff for Germany!
First, PPA organizes language courses in Brazil for the medical staff.
The nursing staff acquire basic German language skills while still in Brazil.
In Germany, the German language skills are improved in further language courses and the recognition of the Brazilian professional titles is prepared.
Afterwards, the Brazilian nursing staff with language skills at level B2 can work as registered nurses in Germany.
The nursing staff are placed throughout Germany.
